In Charles County, the Department of Public Facilities oversees four divisions: Capital Improvement Projects - Buildings and Trades, Parks and Grounds, Roads, and Solid Waste.
The Department of Utilities provides clean and safe drinking water and advanced treatment of wastewater for the County. The Department reads meters, and operates, maintains, and monitors all County water and sewer facilities. This includes wells, booster stations, storage tanks, pump stations, and wastewater treatment plants, as well as fire hydrants, water meters, manholes, sewer lines, and water connections.
