Maryland State Trooper, Maryland State Police, 1979-2000. Member, Maryland Sheriffs' Association, 2002- (4th vice-president, 2006-07; 3rd vice-president, 2007-08). Executive Board, Maryland Sheriffs' Institute; National Sheriffs' Association; Maryland Chiefs of Police Association; International Association of Chiefs of Police; Maryland Correctional Adminstrators Association. Member, Maryland Troopers Association Lodge no. 15; Greater Rising Sun Chamber of Commerce; Cecil County Chamber of Commerce.
