Born in Cleveland, Ohio, November 2, 1965. Attended Cleveland Heights High School; University of Rochester, B.S. (electrical engineering), with honors, 1988. Certificate, Academy of Excellence in Local Government, University of Maryland, College Park, 2005. Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer, Montgomery Municipal Cable, 2009-. Former telecommunications manager. Vice-President, Kensington Historical Society, 2001-03. Member, Legislative Committee, Maryland Municipal League, 2006-07. Board of Directors, Committee for Montgomery, 2006-07; District 18 Caucus, Montgomery County Democratic Party, 2006-07; African-American Democratic Club of Montgomery County, 2006-; Maryland Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials. Charter member, Coalition of Kensington Communities (co-chair, traffic & transportation committee). Member, Montgomery Preservation, Inc.; Sierra Club; Maryland League of Conservation Voters. Municipal Super Star Award, Maryland Municipal League, 2008. Legislator of the Year, Maryland Black Mayors Association, 2009. Married; two children.
