Born in Washington, DC, September 29, 1953. Attended Montgomery County public schools; Springbrook High School, 1971; Duke University, B.A., cum laude, 1975 (varsity letter; political science honors). Law clerk to Judge Peter H. Wolf, District of Columbia Superior Court, 1979-80. National Law Center, George Washington University, J.D., 1980 (recipient, George Washington award; chair, student dean search committee; editor-in-chief, The Advocate). Admitted to the bars of three jurisdictions, including Maryland, 1980. Attorney. Member or former member, American, Montgomery County, Prince George's County and District of Columbia Bar Associations; Maryland Trial Lawyers Association; Plaintiffs' Trial Lawyers Association. President, Eastern Montgomery, Kensington, Wheaton Democratic Club, 1989-90. Married; two children.
